County Stormwater Management Division Moves to New Office, Renamed

Wed, 07/03/2019

In an effort to provide continued high-quality service to businesses, residents and visitors, the County of Lexington’s Department of Stormwater Management will be receiving a new office location and name.

The formerly known Stormwater Management Division will now be named the Land Development Division and will fall under the purview of the County’s Department of Community Development. It was previously administered by the County’s Public Works Department.

The Land Development Division will be moving from its current location on Ball Park Road to the 4th floor of the Lexington County Administration building at 212 S. Lake Dr. However, the department’s residential and commercial inspectors and hydrologist will remain at the Public Works campus.

This office is charged with the responsibility of overseeing construction site compliance, floodplain management and water quality programs. They also oversee the implementation of air quality programs and initiatives. They also educate the public regarding the importance of keeping the waterways located within the County clean through programs like Trash the Poop and rain barrel workshops.

The move will take place throughout June and will be completed by July 1, 2019. The Land Development Division will continue to utilize the same phone number as the Community Development department, which is (803) 785-8121.
