New security measures will be in place at the Lexington County Administration Building for the Lexington County Council meetings. The new measures will begin at Council's next meeting on October 13, 2015. Deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department will operate the newly placed magnetometer and ensure that everyone entering the Council Chamber passes through and are subject to additional search. While it is understood that people need to carry identification cards, money or other personal items; it is requested that they do so in a small handbag or wallet. All bags will be searched before being allowed into Council Chambers.
