Lexington County Solid Waste is requesting that residents look at the schedules and plan ahead for their trash and recycling this holiday season. Please note that due to the holidays, there will be several adjustments to the regular schedules.

Collection and Recycling Centers will be CLOSED Sunday, Dec. 24, Monday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Dec. 26. The regular schedule for these centers will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 27 through Sunday, Dec. 31.

The centers will also be CLOSED Monday, Jan. 1 and Tuesday, Jan. 2 with regular hours resuming Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024. The Regular Collection and Recycling Center Hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sundays 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The Edmund Landfill, Transfer Station and Compost Facility will be CLOSED Monday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) and resume regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 26. The Edmund Landfill will also be closed Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year's Day. Regular hours for the Edmund Landfill are Mondays - Saturdays from 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Solid Waste Administration Offices will be CLOSED Friday, Dec. 22 through Tuesday, Dec. 26.  Regular hours will resume Wednesday, Dec. 27. The administrative offices will also be closed Monday, Jan. 1 and resume regular schedule on Jan. 2. Regular Administrative Hours are Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Curbside Solid Waste Collection

Franchise Residential Solid Waste Curbside Collection in the unincorporated areas of Lexington County will be DELAYED by one day starting on Monday, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Curbside materials will be picked up early on Friday, Dec. 22, residents with regular pick-up service on Fridays are asked to place all materials at the curb on Thursday night, Dec. 21. 

Christmas Day (Dec. 25) there will be no curbside services. Curbside pick-ups will resume Tuesday, Dec. 26 and proceed through Saturday, Dec. 30. Pickups will also be delayed by one day starting Monday, Jan. 1. Curbside pick-ups will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2 and proceed through Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024. This means if you regularly have Monday curbside service, your trash/recycling/yard waste will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, and so on.
