Functions of the 9-1-1 Center

Assist all citizens and visitors by answering emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching, and maintaining records.  Provide medical pre-arrival instructions to assist callers in giving help to the sick and injured before medical personnel arrive.

 

Rave:   The Rave 911 Suite provides 9-1-1 teams and first responders with the critical capabilities needed to increase situational awareness, handle emergencies quickly and improve outcomes with.

SMART911:    Welcome to Smart911, Lexington County!

We are excited to introduce Smart911 to our community! Smart911 allows you to create a personal safety profile that provides vital information to our 911 dispatchers in case of an emergency.

By creating a Smart911 account, you can:

  • Update Your Address and Phone Numbers: Ensure our dispatchers have the most accurate information.
  • Notify of Changes: Inform us if a loved one has passed away.
  • Share Medical Information: List any medications or allergy information that could be crucial during a 911 EMS call.

Your Smart911 profile can include as much or as little information as you choose, and it will automatically display to our dispatchers when you call 911, enabling them to assist you more effectively.

CodeRED:  With CodeRED, state and local agencies can deliver geo-targeted, time-sensitive information to individuals who have registered to receive alerts. Notifications can be sent via email, SMS, voice, mobile app push notifications, IPAWS and more depending on the severity of the situation. Please do not call 9-1-1 unless you have an emergency.

If you need an officer for a non-emergency response, please contact your local law enforcement agency by calling their published telephone number. 

If you call 9-1-1 and do not have an emergency, please tell the operator. If you do not speak with an operator to tell us you don't have an emergency, we will have to send a Police officer to make sure. If we send help where no help is needed, we may not have units available to respond to real emergencies.
