Come out to the Lexington County Museum on September 3 at 11 AM to hear Clay Young present on the courthouses of South Carolina. This presentation, based on Young's book, will examine the history and architecture of these important structures. Visit sccourthouses.com to learn more about Young's book. The Lexington County Museum will offer its FREE Homeschool Day on September 18 starting at 10 am. This program will offer homeschool children aged 5 to 12 an opportunity to learn about Lexington County history through hands-on activities. West Columbia Murders and Mysteries Walking Tour

The Lexington County Museum will offer its FREE “Murders and Mysteries” walking tour of West Columbia on September 18th starting at 8 pm. This tour is a great way to learn about the history of the town and hear some very interesting stories along the way. Attendees will learn about some of the murders, disappearances, and other crimes that occurred on State Street and along the river in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This free tour will begin at the Riverwalk Amphitheater and will last about an hour. Attendees will follow a guide between the amphitheater and Center Street. Because of the mature subject matter, attendees must be 18 or over or have parental permission. This event is offered at no cost and no reservations are needed.
