Murders and Mysteries West Columbia Walking Tour

Free/No reservations needed

Attendees will learn about some of the spookier and more gruesome aspects of West Columbia’s history as we will discuss murders, crimes, and mysteries that occurred along Meeting and State Streets. This free tour will begin at the Riverwalk Amphitheater in West Columbia and end on Center Street. Some uphill walking will be necessary. Because of the mature subject matter, we ask that attendees be over 18 or have parental permission. No reservations or tickets are needed.

Murders and Mysteries Lexington Walking Tour

Learn all about the murders, mysteries, duels, and lynchings that occurred in Lexington as we take a leisurely walk around Lexington’s Main Street. The tour begins at 8 pm at the Icehouse Amphitheater. This is a free event and reservations are not needed. Because of the mature subject matter, we ask that attendees be 18 or over or have parental permission.

Spring Open House

The Lexington County Museum will host its annual FREE Spring Open House on May 5, 2023 from 2PM to 5PM. This event will allow visitors to explore the grounds and buildings of the Lexington County Museum and learn about the history of the county. This event will also feature blacksmithing, soap-making, and cooking demonstrations. This is a great opportunity for children and adults to come out and learn about historic crafts and about the history of the county. Free refreshments will also be provided.


“It’s All About Herbs” Herb Fest

This festival will feature vendors, seminars, baked goods etc. Herbs will be for available to purchase as well.


Friends of the Museum Annual Fundraiser

$60 per person

The Friends of the Lexington County Museum invite you to its annual fundraiser which will be held on April 20, 2024 from 6 pm to 9 pm on the grounds of the Lexington County Museum, located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington. This year’s fundraiser will focus on the newly created strategic plan and the goals set forth by the plan. This gala will help raise funds to make the museum bigger and better. Sponsorships ranging from $150 to $2500 are available and are tax-deductible. The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction. All funds raised go toward the museum’s educational program and the museum’s strategic plan. Sponsorships and tickets for the gala can be purchased here.
