Non‑Chargeable Residential Waste

Residential waste includes ordinary household trash and yard waste generated at your primary residence. Most residential waste can be disposed of at no charge at collection and recycling centers, as well as at the landfill. This no‑fee disposal is supported by the Solid Waste Tax Levy included in residential property tax bills.
Residents must be present and show identification when disposing of waste.

Examples of Non‑Chargeable Residential Waste

Small loads of the following items qualify as non‑chargeable:

• Non‑Freon appliances
• Clothing and textiles
• Household furniture
• Yard waste and other compostable materials
• Mattresses (up to 2 sets or 4 pieces total)
• Small amounts of construction or remodeling debris
• Ordinary household trash

Materials That Require Tipping Fees

The following items and loads are subject to disposal fees:

• Tires
• Refrigerators, air conditioners, and other Freon‑containing appliances
• Large truckloads of concrete
• Land‑clearing debris
• Demolition or remodeling materials
• Large or commercial‑scale loads

Commercial Waste Requirements

All waste generated by:

• Commercial businesses
• Landscapers
• Contractors and subcontractors
• Rental properties

must be taken directly to the landfill and will be subject to fees.
Use of collection and recycling centers is strictly prohibited for these entities.
