County of Lexington officials are inviting and encouraging residents to participate in Idea Week, which is the first round of public meetings for the County’s Grow With Us comprehensive plan. Seven virtual meetings will be held from Oct. 19 through Oct. 22, 2020 and are aimed at receiving feedback from residents in each of the County’s seven planning areas, which are seven geographical regions of the County, about how they want to see the future of their community shaped.
During the one-hour virtual event, residents will learn more about the County’s comprehensive plan, as well as the existing conditions and trends currently impacting Lexington County. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in small-group discussions and focus on key questions about the County’s and the specified planning area’s futures.
For those that do not have access to reliable internet or electronic devices, limited in-person meeting spaces to participate in the virtual meeting will be made available at designated library locations. For more details and to reserve a spot, residents should call (803) 785-1454.
The comprehensive plan is the County’s effort to partner with community stakeholders and residents to collectively develop a plan on how to responsibly grow Lexington County. This plan will lay forth a framework with which County and community leaders can use to manage growth for years to come.
