April Is "GREEN IS CLEAN MONTH" In Lexington County!
The Lexington County Council, by resolution, has proclaimed April as “Green is Clean Month” and
encourages residents to honor Earth Day (April 22nd) throughout the month of April by participating in
events to raise environmental awareness in our community. These events are hosted by the County of
Lexington’s Solid Waste Management Department and Public Works Department, Stormwater Division,
in partnership with Lexington Countywide Stormwater Consortium, South Carolina Department of
Agriculture, and Keep the Midlands Beautiful.
Earth Day is celebrated in more than 192 countries with events held to demonstrate support for
environmental protection.

Electronics (up to 8 items)
Household Hazardous Waste (maximum of 8 gallons of liquid paint)

Items for Sale:
Backyard compost bin -- $40*
Bagged compost made from clean wood waste -- $2/bag (approx. 40 lb)
NEW Bagged black mulch treated for termites -- $2/bag (2 cu. ft.)
NOTE: All items plus bulk compost and untreated/uncolored mulch available at the at the Edmund Landfill, Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sandhills Middle School
Great American Cleanup
The cleanup is sponsored by Keep South Carolina Beautiful and PalmettoPride.
It will begin at 8 a.m. at Sandhills Middle School.
Cleanup and safety supplies will be provided the day of the event during check-in.
Lunch will be served following the clean-up.
Open to residents aged 13 and over. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present throughout the cleanup.
