Car Seat Checks

Lexington County EMS is committed to promoting child passenger safety by providing car seat checks performed by certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians. These technicians not only inspect car seats for proper installation and suitability for a child's age, weight, and height, but also educate parents and caregivers on the correct usage. To schedule an appointment, citizens should contact Lexington County EMS directly via their non-emergency phone number during regular county administrative office hours. During the call, they should specifically inquire about car seat check appointments, including available times, required documentation, and what to bring, such as the car seat and vehicle manuals. It is also recommended to bring the child along, if possible, for a proper fit check. Prior to the appointment, locating the vehicle's owner's manual and the car seat's instruction manual will be beneficial. By following these steps and confirming all details with Lexington County EMS, residents can ensure their children's safety through proper car seat installation.
